Why I Started LJ Global Concierge – And Who I Created It For
After living and working in the UAE for many years, travel became so much more to me than an annual holiday.
Living there opened up a completely different way of experiencing the world. Destinations that once felt a long way away could suddenly be reached within a few hours. There were more flights to choose from, more places to discover, different cultures to experience and an opportunity to travel more often.
I loved that freedom and the excitement that came with it.
But LJ Global Concierge wasn't created simply because I love to travel.
It grew from something much more personal: my passion for people, building meaningful relationships and being able to make a genuine difference to someone's day.
I wanted to create something where I could use the experience I've gained throughout my career to help people protect something they can never get back… their time.
The experience behind LJ Global Concierge
Throughout my career, I've worked closely with senior executives, families and high-performing professionals in roles where organisation, discretion and staying calm when things change were essential.
I've supported C-suite executives, managed global travel, worked across HR and international relocation, coordinated cross-border projects and supported people in environments where trust and reliability really mattered.
Those experiences taught me a great deal about what good support actually looks like.
I've learnt that being organised is only part of it. You also need to be able to listen, understand what matters to someone, anticipate what may be needed and remain calm when something doesn't go according to plan.
Those are lessons I carry with me into LJ Global Concierge.
Why I created the business
We all have the ability to book a hotel, arrange a flight or make a restaurant reservation.
Technology has made that easier than ever.
What can take the time, however, is everything around those decisions.
Researching a destination. Finding somewhere that is genuinely right for your family. Sourcing a thoughtful gift. Working out what to do when a flight changes. Finding a restaurant that suits a particular evening. Making an appointment when you're already dealing with ten other things.
Individually, these details may not seem significant.
Together, they can become another layer of responsibility competing for your attention.
When you're running a business, managing a demanding career, travelling frequently or simply trying to make time for your family, that matters.
There are only so many hours in a day, and I don't believe every one of those details needs to sit with you.
That is why I started LJ Global Concierge.
I wanted to build something personal, based on genuine relationships, where I could help people who are perfectly capable of managing things themselves but would rather spend their time elsewhere.
Perhaps that time is spent growing their business. Perhaps it is travelling. Perhaps it is being present with their family. Often, it is a combination of all three.
For me, that is where the value lies.
What personal concierge support means to me
Concierge support starts with listening.
Before I begin making arrangements, I want to understand the person behind the request.
How do they like to travel? What matters to them? What would they rather avoid? What makes a journey enjoyable? What could make something more complicated than it needs to be?
The answers are different for everyone.
A particular flight time may make perfect sense for one client and be completely impractical for another. One person may want a carefully planned itinerary, while someone else may value having more freedom in their day.
That is why I don't believe good planning is simply about finding what is available.
It is about understanding what is right.
As I get to know a client, I become more familiar with their preferences, their priorities and the way they like things handled. The relationship becomes more intuitive, and the support becomes more personal.
The client doesn't have to keep starting from the beginning.
There is already an understanding.
There is already familiarity.
And, over time, there is trust.
Who I created LJ Global Concierge for
I created LJ Global Concierge for people who value their time and want a more personal way to manage the details around travel and lifestyle.
That may be a senior executive with an increasingly demanding schedule. It may be an entrepreneur who would rather focus on their business than spend an evening researching a trip. It may be a successful woman balancing work, family and travel, or an internationally mobile family who simply wants someone they can turn to directly.
The common thread isn't a particular job title or level of success.
It is the value they place on time, discretion, reliability and having support that genuinely feels personal.
These are people who don't necessarily need someone to organise every part of their lives.
They simply don't want to have to carry every detail themselves.
Why relationships matter to me
Information is everywhere now.
You can compare hotels in seconds, research restaurants, read reviews, find flight options and put together an itinerary without ever speaking to another person.
But information isn't the same as judgement.
And it certainly isn't the same as knowing the individual you're planning for.
The most highly rated hotel may not be the right hotel. The most convenient flight may not be the best choice. A full itinerary may look impressive but leave the client feeling as though they have spent their holiday working through a schedule.
Understanding the person changes those decisions.
That is why relationships are at the heart of LJ Global Concierge.
I want clients to know that I understand what matters to them and that I will use that understanding when making decisions on their behalf.
What I want every client to experience
There are five principles that shape how I work.
Premium service means making sure personal support actually feels personal.
Bespoke planning means looking beyond what is simply available and considering what is genuinely right for the individual.
Peace of mind comes from knowing that someone else is paying attention to the details, particularly when plans change.
Fulfilment is about creating travel that gives something back, rather than filling every available moment simply because it can.
Discretion and trust underpin the entire relationship, because when someone shares personal information, preferences and arrangements with you, they are placing a responsibility in your hands.
These are not simply words I use to describe my business.
They are the standards I want every client relationship to reflect.
Why I still love what I do
Travel remains a huge part of what I love about this business.
I enjoy discovering somewhere new and finding the details that make a destination special. I enjoy learning from people who know a place well and building relationships with trusted contacts who can provide insight that you won't always find online.
But what I enjoy most is knowing that something I've handled has made a real difference to someone.
It might mean a client didn't have to spend an evening researching.
It might mean an unexpected change was dealt with before it became their problem.
It could mean they were able to sit down for dinner with their family without thinking about what needed arranging next.
Or it might simply mean they knew that when something changed, there was someone they could call.
Those moments may not always be visible.
They are, however, the reason I started LJ Global Concierge.
I don't believe people necessarily need more choices, more information or more things to manage.
I believe they need more time for the things that matter.
And if I can use my experience, knowledge and relationships to give some of that time back to my clients, while providing personal support they can trust, then I am doing exactly what I set out to do.
